Planimetric maps are a type of topographic map. They use contour lines like many maps to depict features within the region being focused upon. However are always 2D and do not show elevation. This map is a map of the place at Versailles, France. It shows roads as well as some waterways. It obviously qualifies as a planimetric map as it is 2D and does show any elevation. Planimetric have a long history as most maps created up until the mid to late 20th century were planimetric maps. They were especially during the exploration of the United States.
