Statistical maps are maps that map values based on a range of data or percentages. A value (or color) is assigned to a range or percentage. The map above shows the growth rates of internet across the whole continent of Africa based on one year from 1995-1996. As seen there are different percentages and the color is determined by what range the country is in while the size is dependent on the percentage and how many people have access to internet. Statistical maps are similar to graphs and mathematics and how it is calculated/ presented plays a big role in how the values are represented.
